Assurant Solutions appoints Paul Harrington as Project Manager

Assurant Solutions - a specialist in creating, underwriting and administering niche insurance protection products - has announced the appointment of Paul Harrington as Project Manager for its Irish affiliate, Assurant Services Ireland Limited.

Paul will manage, co-ordinate and ensure the delivery of business projects, and will also have a strategic role in creating, developing, and improving Assurant business processes. He will be responsible for the initiation and management of all new business projects undertaken by Assurant Services Ireland Limited.

Paul joins Assurant Solutions from Motorola, where he worked initially as a software engineer before spending 2 years on the Business Leadership Development Program. He has worked for Motorola in both the UK and Singapore. Prior to that he was a business analyst with Electronic Data Systems in Dublin for two years from 1998 to 2000.

Paul holds a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from University College Cork, and a Post-Graduate diploma in Computer Science from the same institution.

Assurant Solutions operations in Ireland are supported by a service centre in Cork operated by an affiliate, Assurant Services Ireland Ltd. Established in 1999 as a claims processing centre for U.S. operations, the centre currently employs 94 people.

Assurant Solutions specialises in creating insurance products including payment protection insurance, warranty and service contracts, and credit card price and purchase protection. The business works with financial institutions, intermediaries, brokers and high street and home shopping retailers to design, develop, underwrite, administer and market these niche insurance lines.
